J. Smith & Sons was well regarded in the transport industry as an extremely innovative Heavy Vehicle manufacturer until its unfortunate closure in 2013. A significant proportion of the Smith & Sons budget was directed towards R&D and it won many awards for the equipment it manufactured. The trailers were respected for their high quality in both design & manufacture & its loyal customers recognised the superior return on investment that they enjoyed with the Smith products.

Smith Global’s experience is built upon the extensive engineering experience of J. Smith & Sons. Since Smith & Sons is no longer a manufacturing competitor in the industry, Smith Global is able to offer our innovative design services to other Heavy Vehicle manufacturers in the industry.

Licencing opportunities also exist for manufactures who are interested in continuing to manufacture existing J. Smith & Sons designs.
